pick up as much cigarettes as possible???

Your limit of duty free cigarettes is 200, i.e one carton per person.  In many UK airports bags offloaded from prime (tourist) cigarette smuggling countries such as Turkey and Canary Islands are x-rayed before going on the baggage return belt.

Up to you though, of course.

Most of the shops sell cartons as well as single packets.  Migros near dolphin roundabout have a good selection.  Just be wary as there are fakes about!

Each brand of cigarette here has a standard price, so you won't get them cheaper by shopping around - unless of course you find the fakes! Some of the Turkish brands are actually more expensive in the duty free shops at the airport, since they're priced in euros. To give you an example L&M are 9.50 tl, I bought 400 in Ankara recently & paid 210tl , so 20tl more than buying them in the shop

West's are similar to L&M's but a tad cheaper.

Which works out the cheapest way to pay for them at the airport Lira/sterling/Euro or card.
