Colin Wilson states in one of his books ( I cant remember which book let alone find the quote)
that Homer's "Wine dark sea" is a literal quote, Wilson argues that mans visual colour senses
are continuously evolving, among many others and that Homer described exactly what he saw. I would be interested to hear Tom Brosnahan explanation, If you have the time that is.
