I was both mildly amused and mildy exasperated when I heard that loony US Christians were convinced the end of the world will begin tomorrow. But I was delighted to hear that enterprising US atheists had found a way to make money out of this. The loopy Christians are convinced that they will be "harvested" to go to heaven (in the Rapture) 5 months prior to the end of the world. The unselected will be left behind. So a group of sworn atheists have contracted to look after their pets when they go on Saturday - non refundable! The advertizing pitch is: "You've committed your life to Jesus. You know you're saved. But when the Rapture comes, what's to become of your loving pets who are left behind?". The atheists will (if necessary) care for them for a mere $135 and - as atheists - are guaranteed not to be saved. Brilliant. Over 250 Americans have, apparently, already handed over their money.
