I've no problem with horse meat or any other meat providing it's labelled as such.
The horse meat scandal was about conning the public for profit and I don't recall
many companies being punished, in relation to the size of the scandal.
It certainly showed how crap our food standards officials are.

I'll keep a look out for a leg of Shire.

Horses make a lovely meal for the whole family. A cat would just be a starter.   ;)

Maybe eating horse meat is the reason that most of the "royals ", & their consorts, have a very strong horsey look !! In that case, let THEM eat a lot more of it !!

Do you eat a lot of pig Gordy ?  ;)

Actually Allan, I AM partial to a pork chop now and then, but for years now, I have been surviving on a diet of " Ugli " fruit, & " Smelly feet " cheese, wonderful !    ;) ;D

Rat, Bat or Cat if you have been to south-east Asia you have probably already eaten it, no problem as long as it's cooked right. ;D

Could I eat horse meat.  Yes and I have ..... very nice too as I recall if a little sweeter than a beef steak.  I think the important point is, as overs have observed, that it is displayed as horse meat, and certainly never mixed with other meats to put in food such as pies or lasagne, again unless clearly marked.

It's advisable not to eat large quantities of horse meat as it can give you the trots.
