I asked about this and was told you could buy white emulsion with the stain blocker in it. Couldn't find the tins of stain blocker that you can buy in UK  but didn't try too many shops.

If you ask saffet at Evim Garden Centre Ovacik, he will order from bq. Yes you pay a delivery but worth it for the right product.

Why can you not have an aerosol on the plane. Surely you can put it in hold luggage?

You can have an aerosol on a plane. Just as long as it isn't a paint aerosol  :)

Why don't you just buy a can of it instead of an aerosol ?

Water based paint or emulsion will not hold back water staining, it softens it and allows it to come through to the surface.

For many years I have used white oil based undercoat to seal staining on ceilings. Allow it to dry then paint with emulsion.

Matt emulsion gives the best coverage. The aerosols are brilliant for touching up small areas.           ;)

PS.  The undercoat is cheaper than the blockers.
