Title: New rental law
Post by: woody on February 07, 2019, 11:32:16 AM
Hi everyone.

Can anyone please help me with the new legal requirements regarding my home in calis?

I am told that I now need to register with the local police if I intend to allow people other than myself and wife to stay in my property on a commercial basis… however I only ever allow family and close friends to stay in the house and do not make money from them…so my question is does the same law apply to family and friends who wish to stay in my house?.

Much appreciated for your help.

Woody,

we are in the same scenario as you (family and a few close friends at no cost) and we beieved we needed to register - we did last season and will be doing this season.

We pay someone to do it for us. and as we only have a few "registerable" visitors per season we paid a flat fee of approx. £100 for the year.

I obtained a form from the jendarme in Fethiye, listed all the people that would be staying in my villa who were all family, took it to the local mayor in Ciftlik, who duly signed and sealed it. Went back to the Jendarme in Fethiye with my Passport & Tapu, was asked a few questions and simply told when anyone is at my villa I was to inform the site manager another form to fill in,
Have been doing this since the new laws were introduced 2 years ago.
Simple didn't need to pay anyone either, just the inconvenience of going to the jendarme office

Gendarme's and police systems are different. The system that you will use, depends on property's location. If your property is in police responsibility area, you must use police's system, otherwise you must use gendarme system.

Hi Woody,

it is Julian Jones at Property 4 Sale Turkey.

I found them from an ad on the fethiye times site here that explains what they do.....

https://www.fethiyetimes.com/advertise/22255-holiday-guest-registration.html (https://www.fethiyetimes.com/advertise/22255-holiday-guest-registration.html)

All I do is send them our visitors passport details and dates and they do the rest including sending me a screenshot of the completed registration on the system.

Ian
