Title: Rose Spraying

I was told that a spray of water.washing up liquid,baking powder and meth spirit would prevent black fly.I won dered what proportions to mix them in,any ideas?

I have tried the soap and water mix on black fly and it does work.  I have not used it as a deterrent though.

If you've got smokers in the household, collect their cigarette butts in water and use the liquid to spray plants. It's the nicotine content of the butts that leeches into the water and kills them.

If you want a greener way of deterring black and greenfly, plant nicotiana / tobacco plants amongst the borders or pots.
