Still a lot of money even if it did include a four-hour Bosphorus tour and a two-way transport bill from Atatürk Airport to Gebze and from Gebze to the airport in a luxury car!

The term "mug" immediately comes to mind - although if he'd been "invited", maybe the company should have made it clear they weren't actually in Istanbul but in a complete sh1thole thirty odd miles away - one of who's claims to fame is that they are twinned with some dodgy city in Somalia.
For the record, yes I've been to Gebze on several occasions and consider myself neither Gebzieist nor Somaliaist (spelling might be a bit out there!)

Total rip off £600!! The company who invited him and advised him to use this tour operator are shady to the say the least. Why didn't they arrange and pay for the transfer? and get the money from the man?

I looked at the photograph of the receipt and I think a nought has been added to make it 3000 instead of 300.Are the figures written anywhere?Is it just me who thinks this?

Since the company didn't deny the bill (according to newspaper story) I doubt the original charge was 300TL.

The 3rd 0 on the bill looks well dodgy to me. I'd say he's added it and tried to claim expenses.

Looks like I agree that but the story says it had already been taken from his card so I guess the firm took 3000tl and not 300.
