Listed below are the Turkish national public holidays for 2020. It includes important dates in the nation’s history and major religious events (marked as R when not an official holiday)

20 February: Regaip Kandili R
21 March: Miraç Kandili R
7 April: Berat Kandili R
23 April: National Sovereignty and Children’s Day (Ulusal Egemenlik ve Çocuk Bayramı)
24 April: Holy month of Ramazan begins
1 May: Labour and Solidarity Day1
19 May: Commemoration of Ataturk, Youth and Sports Day (Atatürk’ü Anma Gençlik ve Spor Bayramı)
19 May: Kadir Gecesi R
23 May: Şeker Bayram Arife Günü – Religious half day holiday before Şeker Bayramı. This is a gazetted half day off but most employees in private businesses work the full day.
24 May – 26 May: Şeker Bayramı (also known as Ramazan Bayramı) – a feast of chocolates and sweets.
15 July: Democracy and National Solidarity Day2
30 July: Kurban Bayram Arife Günü – Religious half day holiday before Kurban Bayramı. This is a gazetted half day off but most employees in private businesses work the full day.
31 July – 3 August: Sacrifice (Kurban Bayramı) Feast
29 August: Aşure Günü R
30 August: Victory Day (Zafer Bayramı)
28 October: Mevlid Kandili R
28 October: Republic Day Arife. Half day holiday before Republic Day. This is a gazetted half day off but most employees in private businesses work the full day.
29 October: Republic Day
