Can anyone give me some advice on the the various options availabe on cental heating in Calis for the winter months,

yeah, good subject, i thought about air conditioning units but i would also think about central heating, is it expensive to install & to run, Alan

I see lots have regular central heating. We're not sure what the nights will be like this visit but if we are caught short and are cold we can use a small gas heater till we figure out what we need.

We were thinking of bringing a couple of halogen heaters. They are meant to be very cost efficient with different heat settings and only about £12 upwards to buy.

You can get central heating here.
As there is no main line gas you have two options.
One is Calor gas and the other is deisel.
You do have to have large tanks on your balcony or in your garden but it works pretty much the same as in the UK.
I use the air conditioning on hot but that is unpredictable as the air con in our office doesn't heat up.
My favourite is a calor gas push around.
So there you have it, probably the most boring post on the forum but essential in these winter months.

We had a gas boiler installed, that heats the radiators in all of the rooms and gives instant hot water for showers etc. Pete

but you cant really do that in an appartment on the 2nd floor so i think it's aircon.

I would imagine aircon is expensive to run on heat-cycle during extended periods??? is it????
