On Saturday I was discharged after ten days in Ahu Hetman hospitial in Marmaris. This is a private hospital and I rate the treatment I received there, for a pretty serious heart condition, very highly. This apparently is not always the case with private hospitals and I'll be posting about this separately. Hilary and I were given medical repatriation to the UK with transport by ambulanace and wheelchair accompanied all the way by a doctor who had been sent out from the UK. I will again be posting on my experience with the insurance company and on comments made by the UK doctor who has long-term experience of hospitals and repatriation all over the world. I will also be posting about the journey back to the UK - under the Grumpy Old Men forum. Perhaps this discussion will be of value to holidaymakers who find themselves in similar positions. Unfortunately, I didn't collect any material suitable for Turkish Tales - perhaps I am losing my sense of humour.
