You may recall all our wedding flights we had booked and lost with Aegean....ironically, we already had a week booked with a different airline in April to do all the paperwork etc for our June wedding in Turkey. Never mind, we thought, we shall get married in Brum and use that flight for our honeymoon!  So, wedding all booked etc for 21st April, flight for honeymoon all booked on 30th April.

Honeymoon flight booked with............Thomas Cook!

I am not recommending but Direct Line do it.

If you are doing a Google i suggest: Airline supplier failure insurance.

Be wary as some supplier failure policies exclude Airlines e.g. Insurengo.

Yes - but also be very aware that failure insurance very often only covers scheduled flights and not charters such as Fly Thomas Cook.

The company are owned by a German company, so Herr Angela Merkel will ensure that Euro money is used to bail them out, if the boot was on the UK foot still, and it was 52% UK owned then, Oh hell let them drown!

Keith is right on this one, insolvency is not included on charter flights only on scheduled services I searched on the net a lot last night.I called the post office insurance and the customer service lady did not know herself and had to "phone a friend" so to speak to ask!:(

Looks like a waiting game now  :o

Ok,without a chrystal ball nobody not even TC themselves knows what the outcome may be. However nervous we are, not booking with them can only contribute to their predicament with the inevitable result ie loss of competition. It's my guess and only a guess is that they will restructure well and pull through. That said, had I the money I would be tempted to buy shares in them at the present price. I would also surmise that Turkish Airlines and their friends are watching this very carefully and making their own plans !
