I got 2.81 in January@ First Choice, but the most I can get now is 2.63. Any ideas where to get the best rate in the UK please?

Generally speaking I don't think that it makes a significant difference where you go to change money as most companies offer the same, or very similar rates. A quick check revealed the following

Post Office - 2.6730
Travelex    - 2.6733
M&S         - 2.6600

On £ 500 that's roughly a 6 lira difference and of course you will get a better rate in Calis.
