Caretta Beach Bar
« on: June 28, 2012, 17:11:34 PM »
Thre of us ladies went to Caretta Beach today for lunch and a relax. We got into one of the "sheds" and one of the staff came over said hello. We asked how much for the "shed" he said later. Good job we asked because he came back and said 10TL we thought that was for all of us. Turns out he wanted 30TL!!! we said that it has only just gone up to 15TL at buyuk Samanlik and Kucuk Samanlik and that he would be losing the lunch and drinks custom as well. He just shrugged and said "patron problem". 30TL was for the use of the facilities on the beach????? and a free swim.!! We didnt ask how much the sunbeds were.

We always take the dog there for a run, had a late swim a couple of days ago and saw the sunbeds and decided we might go back for longer one day.

Maybe not!

Is this topic about Caretta Beach bar,the one further around from Telmessos complex where the new boatyard is going, or the place at the end of the prom opposite end to the Saat now called Caretta Restaurant?

As it's in the Koca Calis forum I think we can safely assume it's the one near the new boat yard site, George.

I doubt that it is the Karatas beach bar as I assume that Anne & the girls would have been in the Calis one. Can you clarify this one Anne?

It was at Karatas Beach, where the little cafe is and you have quite a long walk to the sea. We intended to go to Ciflik beach  but unfortunately all the shade under the trees was occupied. It was their loss and the usual short sightedness mentality.

Yes Karatas Jo. we dont half get about. LOL.  We were perfectly prepared to pay for the "shed" as we always pay 15TL for the ones around the headland in Fethiye but 10TL per person is quite frankly a rip off. It was 10TL per "shed" last year so we know prices have gone up but no way and he lost his lunch and drinks custom too.
