Printer non technical repair?
« on: August 26, 2012, 22:15:41 PM »
My printer suddenly announced it couldn't print because the door was open. So I opened the lid (to open then close it) and the plastic bits on the back hinge just broke off.

I, then Doğan have tried to realign the bits so it sits as if closed and so I can at least print but to no avail. Does anyone know where I can get this repaired preferably quite quickly.

Thanks

Try Caspers opposite HSB bank.  We have used them a lot and, so far, they have been very good.

Hewlett Packard Officejet J6410 and it is a nice one not that old - I bought it from someone via the forum and it has a scanner and photocopier and I like it.

Thanks for the Casper suggestion.

Thanks Scorcher - literally just got back from dropping it off at Caspers who say they can mend it; thanks Eric. Always good to have a back up plan though   :)

Just reporting back - Casper recommended that it would cost as much to replace the lid on the printer so they have, using a bit of paper blocked the sensor that said the door was open and stopped the printer from printing, filled my black ink cartridge, carried it to my car and didn't charge me anything.

Türkiye hoşgeldiniz   :)

I can now use it as before to print and scan.

Thanks for your help.
