Could,nt agree with you more dizzy. i joined finnans 4 years ago, a lot of my friends here said we are with fortis, alper great guy, suddenly fortis went tits up alper goes to ing, people follow and of course their choice, the best thing since sliced bread they say, great iterest rate on daily account and monthly too, i go to my bank finnans and tell them, they say we do that too Des, i have 62 day account and have never had less than 9 and a half percent intrest in 4 years. now alper gone from ing and the people that follow dissapointed with garranti bank. emily and ayesha still with finnans and go out of their way to help you. would recommend finnans to anyone.

Who is Emily ;D it's Aysha, Gulsah and Emine  ;) and I agree with everthing you say about Finans  :)

Thanks, Des will keep that in mind when we come over.
KKOB, Heard on the news tonight that Polish is now the second most spoken languages in the U.K.  but, like Des, I imagine lots of languages now must be spoken in British Banks and business as there are now so many immigrants.   In fact, a Polish cafe owner in London was saying that the Polish immigrants have so many places like shops and business that speak Polish, they are not bothering to learn English... now her words not mine..They are lazy...

Before I moved from fethiye, had always been with Finans and never a problem.
Waiting time really cut down and it seemed difficult to find a member of staff
who didn't speak english.  Their call centre also excellent as I find their online banking.
I'll also close my ING account when i'm next in fethiye, have never been able to
access online banking and after a long time to their call centre and getting no-where,
time to finish with them.

No Finans is on the main street practically next door to Garanti. Just past the turn off for the one way road.

There are also branchs of both banks down from Migros, opposite Zakkums, don't know if they have any English speakers though.

We were with Finans when we first came but left because they charged us what we then thought was a lot of money to transfer funds in from the UK, and also the constant waits to get seen. We know better now after using HSBC - another one we've now closed, their customer service is also abysmal.

BTW is Efsun still with Finans in town? She was our account person at TEB and is very good.

I have a feeling we don't help the situation  ;) As more people recommend a bank more people open accounts there - this was initially what caused Finans to be so frustrating - too many Brits! Finans was better than the Bus Stop or Anna Bar for socialising back then - you'd always know at least 4 or 5 of the other people waiting upstairs!

I think over my time I had dealings with nearly all of them with customer's stage payments and the like. None are perfect but none worse than the pitiful Deniz Bank - and Fortis.

If it's people that make a difference (I suspect it is) then the two best people I had the pleasure of dealing with are Alper (now at Garanti) and Ayse at Finans. Absolute stars both of them, even when I was angry with their bank and it wasn't their fault  :)

My husband tried to call them from the U.K. last week and he spent 30 minutes going around in circles. He was told to press a button to speak to someone in English and each time he pressed he went back to the start again. Eventually, he gave up.
We will not put up with bad service so may change over when we come out this year.  Any recommendations for Banks with an English speaker? and good service ???

Hi Jacqui, we've been with Garanti since we first started on our Turkish adventure about nine years ago. We have never had a problem with them, they have a very good and very user-friendly internet banking facility, and my account manager phones and emails me quite regularly to ask me what we'd like to do with our money when bonds and things come towards maturity.

And with the advent of websites like UK Best Minutes etc. you can phone them from the UK for just 1p per minute if you have any problems.

Ha, nice one KKOB. And if there's anyone out there speaks Romanian or Bulgarian there's probably a few hundred jobs out there for you working in the UK benefits agency or some UK banks for when the next influx of Eastern European benefit scroungers turn up at the end of this year when the flood gates open to those countries.

How many countries will those Romanians and Bulgarians have to cross to get to the land of milk and honey I wonder.
