« on: April 05, 2013, 20:43:08 PM »
I only get out to Turkey a couple times a year at the moment, but reading another drop in interest rates !
Would anyone suggest best bank with best rates I am currently with Finansbank but looking for best place to put money for retirement, so somewhere I can invest for coming years.

That's not any easy question these days - maybe you should sit down with your bank as many say only good things about them so they are as good as most and ask them if they can help you with some planning as they might have some other "safe" products - bonds etc

Also keep your eye on this monthly report

If you are putting say 50,000 TL in I would be looking to achieve 1% above the type of rate quoted on the report as none of them have too much flexibility unless you look at longer term fixes or less safe products.

I remember the best deal I ever got was an offer from Alper (when he was very young :-) ) of guaranteed Government Bonds at 24% - nowadays those same bonds offer about 5.5%
