« on: June 12, 2013, 19:50:08 PM »
intersure have e-mailed saying We have now been requested by the Turkish government to notify them of this Tax Reference Number to ensure your tax contribution in respect of your property insurance has been noted.

If you could provide this information to us at your earliest convenience using the link provided below, you policy will be updated immediately.
does anyone know why this might be ? i dont want to be getting a big tax bill . also is the number they are after the "vergi kimlik Number " ? which is a 10 digit number on a small card we were given when purchasing the house ( we got one each as its in joint names ) . thanks for any help .

Yes it will be your 10 digit number from your cards - sounds like a tightening control for DASK possibly as predicted a few weeks ago???

I also had this email today from Intasure (after renewing our Dask yesterday).  I'm a bit worried that we are going to suddenly receive an unexpected tax bill.  (This happened to my husband's mate who has a property in Greece.  He received a huge tax bill, that was sent out to anyone who owned a property and who wasn't Greek!)  I guess time will tell why the turkish government suddenly need this information!

I thought that DASK was compulsory.

If anyone is landed with a big bill because it had not been paid before ..... tough.

If I am wrong and have been paying for many years  a non-compuslory DASK then tough on me, of course.

Compulsory or voluntary ?

I didn't pay mine for years, and then I decided to. Just got a quote and paid it for the next 12 months. No request for the missing years at all.
