Are Sterling Saving Accounts Available at Turkish Banks

Does anyone know if there are interest bearing deposits account available in GBP. We have a GBP current account with Finnans and online I can only see Euro & USD savings accounts?

Any info would be interest.

Garanti and ING pay 1% on sterling time deposit accounts ie 30 days.

Thanks Mark, looks like that kind of rate means it is not worth the hassle of investing in a GBP account in Turkey as the rate is similar to the UK.

Was worth a thought though   ;)

I asked at HSBC about a sterling savings account, was told interest would be 2%

I have a sterling account with HSBC. They said it would be ideal for holding money in waiting for a better exchange rate.
I have never used it. They just did it without asking when I joined.
