I'll settle for efficiency and courtesy.

Plus I don't think my demeanour and bearing inspires any a*se kissing. Well it hasn't so far. And it'd take a big mouth to kiss what I have .... anyway, I'm going to shut up now.

Thank you once more for the responses. I do love CBF.

Whichever bank you finally decide on, do remember to take sandwiches and a copy of War and Peace - tea will probably be provided .

Don't count on Alper being at the bank for long.  We joined our first Bank because of the Alper recommendation. He moved to ING and emailed all his customers with a recommendation to follow him to ING.  We did and everything went really well.  Then he moved to the Garanti Bank and again we all had the emails to "Follow me"
This time we stayed and I have to say, we have had no problems with ING up to now and their are staff that speak English.  Last time (June) we were pleased with the service we received.

Good luck Susie I have heard from a friend that you can wait up to 1 1/2 hours in the Garanti Bank to be served. This has never happened to us in the two Banks we have been with and one of the reasons we did not follow Alper there.

I've never waited more than 5 minutes to see Alper at Garanti.

That's great news, but I have heard different from others.  We also waited to see Alper in the last two banks we where with.  One occasion we waited for 35 minutes to see him, even though we had rung for an appointment. I think the problem is all the Brits want to see Alper so if you call in at the wrong time you will wait.  His fame has spread and he is probably the one Banking name everyone knows in Fethiye and is very popular with us Brits..  It would be interesting to know if anyone else in the Garanti Bank is a popular English speaker like Alper.
