I no longer use my iphone and have never used iTunes.

Is there any need for me to keep it installed on my laptop.

Thanks in advance   :)

No. It's useful for backups but if you use iCloud on your phone there is no need

Might sound daft to you but can I ask for backups of what.

I have checked my icloud and it seems I have never used it. I use Google Drive for virtual storage.

I do have an ipad but have never plugged it into the computer so presume I would have access to icloud from that if I ever wanted it.

I'm just trying to free up space on my laptop really and wondered if there was anything that came with iTunes that was useful I might be using without knowing it.

Nothing useful - but it's like sh1t on a blanket getting rid of it.

Once you uninstall it, run a registry cleaner to get rid of the entries.  You also may need to change the default program for mp3's etc.
