butcher shop
« on: March 05, 2017, 16:00:35 PM »
We will be in Calis for 6 weeks May/June. We usually buy our meat in and around the fish market in Fethiye. Can anyone suggest any butcher shops in the Gunlukbasi area?

I do not remember what teh butcher shop is called, but there is certainly one in Gunlukbashi that we have used a few times, also Melissa the big suoermarket there has some good meat, but i do think the best butchers in the area is the one on the main Baris manco road towards Calis about half way down.

We use the Butchers on Baris Manco  Blv.  It is just opposite the Cahide Restaurant, near the taxi rank.   The meat is very good, chicken, lamb, beef etc.,   They have a rotisserie outside and the hot chickens from there are lovely.  We often call in and get one
We have bought some very good meat in this Butchers and can recommend it.

Coming up from the Shangai Blue going away from the Beach the Cahide is on the same side and just on the next corner. Can recommend you give it a try.
Right opposite is Ibrahim Gul Cadesi which has the Ayde Market on one side and the old Palm's used to be just along from there.   On the other side to the Ayde is the taxi rank and a carpet cleaning place, they always have carpets outside, then another Market and then the Butchers.   If get get a hot chicken they cut it in half so easy to serve.

They have been when we have been there Karen, they are very popular, our neighbours went over one evening and they were sold out.
We usually get one for lunch and there are plenty then.  I am hungry thinking about them, they are lovely.
