Cash or cards
« on: July 08, 2020, 19:05:46 PM »
There is a bit of chat in the other place about bars, restaurant, shops etc. not accepting cash these days.

I know dolmus drivers are not taking cash but what are members recent experiences of bars, restaurants etc.

I’ve been asking the same question for when we travel in a couple of weeks. Not first hand experience but Abu from Bambu says card or cash and so does a regular visitor who is there at the moment. I’m usually cash so will be interesting to read other replies.

The only thing I've heard is that old £20 notes aren't being accepted. Businesses are insisting on the new plastic ones.

Cash no problem anywhere I've been, I normally only use card in supermarkets but they also take cash.

We'll be accepting cash or cards as usual once we open.

I didn't know about the old £20 notes though. Presumably the banks here are accepting the old ones! Does anyone know?

Hi Nichola, do you have a planned opening date?

Hi Richard, yes confirmed just this afternoon that we will open next week

Our bar and Eyna hotel reopens - 12 noon Wednesday 15th July - because we have guests earlier than we expected

MOTIF restaurant will reopen - 12 noon Friday 17th July.

Normally we don't but this year we will take reservations for the restaurant in the evenings.

It is incredibly hard to plan and know what to do at the moment (Çalış has been deathly quiet) so we don't have a full staff team yet, a smaller menu for now, although we will accommodate any particular requests if we can or are given notice if someone wants something that's currently not on the temporary menu, and we will, if we see the potential step things up accordingly.
