La Terrace
« on: June 22, 2008, 12:09:00 PM »
Bus Stop and La Terace have both been taken over by new management, as we found a couple of weeks ago. We were really anxious to get to La Terace for a meal, it's always been one of our favourites. We were surprised not to see Serkan waiting outside to welcome us. A guy with a cap stood up from one of the tables and asked, did we want a meal or just a drink? We said a meal, and he pointed up the stairs and sat down again.

We wandered up the stairs, feeling a bit lost. At the top we stood for a while, being ignored. Eventually we were shown to a table and left, no offer of a drink. After 5 minutes we asked for a menu, we got it but before we could ask for a drink,, the waiter disappeared, after 5 minutes we asked the waiter for a couple of drinks. After 5 more minutes we got a drink and ordered a meal. Meal was fine no problems. After paying we got up to leave and again, were ignored, no goodbye, and no handshake.  We were bitterly disappointed there was no atmosphere at all, it was like eating at a Motorway Cafe.    We eventually found Serkan at Bambu and got the usually warm welcome. He told us the Chef from La Terace was also at Bambu. We ate there a couple of times and the food and atmosphere was great, highly recommended. We will not be going to La Terace again ....
