types of beer (and other types of alcoholic)
« on: January 26, 2010, 19:05:03 PM »
Okay, I did say when i introduced myself that there would be questions - so here is the first!!
My mate (male, 45, just in case some where getting really strange visions) only really likes lager such as tennants (for the scottish amongst you) or carling - at a push bud or something similar. Will he like the must discussed Efes or are we in for a miserable holiday with him complaining and searching through Calis beach for something that he will approve of. The rest of us will drink pretty much anything - wine/beer/cider/vodka/whisky oh and my husband and best friend are also partial to Asbach brandy if that is available.
Thanks in advance
Hic

I'm sure he will be able to 'suffer' Efes for a few weeks. I drink bottled lager at home and get on fine with Efes (I even buy it from Tesco when it's on offer).

I think there are one or two other lagers on offer and Efes is also available on draft.

I can't comment on the brandy as I rarely drink spirits.

You can get Millar and a couple of others easily. Efes is different, some like, some don't. I don't really. Maybe take your male, 45 mate to Wetherspoons, he can try it there  :)

I can drink Tennents and Efes.

I always think the beer is better in the country it was made in.

Morning All
Thanks for all the replies. Can't say I've seen Efes in our local Wetherspoons (was in there for male mate 45's 45th birthday  last night). He is partial to a pint of wife beater - my brother calls it that too and he is in the midlands - so male mate 45 should be okay in regards to beer. He also prefers Smirnoff vodka so will we be able to satisfy that requirement for him?? So demandng I know - and they talk about women being hard work!!
Cheers
