Title: Leaving Turkey as a Resident
Post by: Rimms on May 23, 2012, 07:38:22 AM
We came in on a 90 day visa and then got our residency soon after. Do we have to go to the passport police with our residence permit as the 90 day visa runs out? I also assume you have to show your residence permit at passport control as you exit the country?

Your visa is irrelevant now.

When you go through Passport Control you show your passport and your blue book.

No, you just need your residence permit when you leave the country.

The first time you leave, passport control will put an exit stamp your old tourist visa. Thereafter, your entry & exit stamps will be on a blank page in your passport.

Correct. My last 2 passports have no tourist visas in at all, just give passport and blue book and off you go.

Thank you all, just trying to stay ahead and sometimes second guess the rules in Turkey, sometimes it's not easy !
