The Istanbul in Kaya village
« on: June 30, 2015, 06:32:42 AM »
Another great experience  at the Istanbul in Kaya , if you phone them they will pick you up and bring you to the village we  were picked up at telmessos at 2pm.

The restaurant is situated on the main road, they also have a swimming pool, which  we used to cool down after a hot dusty walk around the village which it a real treat and sun beds to chill out and relax with drinks.
The food is typically Turkish we had mezze to start with stuffed aubergine and lamb kebabs, all delicious, they have a young team there with an emphasis on fun with a bit of cheek from the young guys who were extremely charming , and the owner clearly enjoyed banter with the staff and ran a very happy ship, at 11  we were taken back by Fatma who is not only the cook but the manager and she was delightful, all in all we had a great day with extremely reasonable prices considering the pick up and drop off :0)

We also like the Istanbul very much.  Love to have lunch there as it is very chilled out.  I can  also recommend the Wednesday night BBQ entertainment is wonderful, great group, all for 60TL. including pick up and drop off.

I heard the music nights are really good, but are now running out of time of all the things we'd like to do so maybe next year
A couple who were staying there  showed us the accommodation it was to a five star, standard all for £350 for 2 weeks including breakfast, we are considering this for a week getaway!

We love having lunches there too, all the staff are lovely and are so friendly. We often go away with a gift of home grown fruit or veg. Food is fabulous, we manage with meze for two, delicious, fresh and filling. After lunch last time we sat by the pool with our books and dozed in the sun. We saw the bungalow which we think was Dons house too, (See picture) I do agree they are lovely accommodations, great for a getaway.

We came up to The Istanbul a couple of days after we arrived in Fethiye and just before you left, we hoped we might bump into you both, but the young waiter said you'd gone out for the day. Never mind, maybe next time.  ;D

Lotty, we will be back at Kaya on the 30th October a bit later than usual but we have a family wedding on the 29th. We fly out again on the 2st May so may see you during that period.
