May sound a little harsh but why do we order food and drinks without knowing the price or asking, be it at Gemiler a fish restaurant in Fethiye or anywhere else.

Would I trust a restaurant in the English Lake District to serve food and drink without a price? No I Bl..dy well wouldn't.

Lets face it holiday hot spots all over the world can be much the same in our experience.  :)  ;) 8)

Sadly this place has been on CBF several times over the years for scamming customers. Another warning folks, Gemiler Beach = BEWARE.

You would more than likely be given a menu. If not I would be very surprised.

I would just like to point out that this is the restaurant on the right hand side as you look out to sea. The owners of this business call you in from the car park with the lure of so called free sunbeds if you use their restaurant & also inferring that you can't park unless you eat in their business and then proceed to rip people off!  >:(
The main restaurant, on the left hand side of the beach, is run by the muhtar and his family & has menus on every table and food and drink prices displayed on a board for everyone to see before they order. The food is good and reasonably priced for a beach front esablishment. It would be a great shame for this good restaurant to get tarred with the same brush as the other one or for people to miss out and avoid Gemiler altogether ???

Spot on Linda - my gang love the place and we always go to the left hand cafe and have never had any problems.

The "rogue" restaurant is run by the ex-muhtar's family.

Gemiler is one of my favourite places, and I also eat at the restauranbt right on the beach, their
"meatball kebab sandwich" is just fabuolos, prices are clear and I enjoy it there.

Such a shame when people spoil it by ripping tourists off!

We got caught out with much the same with this restaurant this summer. It was our first visit to Gemeler. We got enticed in with the "free use of our sunbeds and maybe you could buy a drink from us" pitch. As it was our first visit my sister and my wife, after an hour of sunbathing, went for a wander and a look around. As soon as the woman who enticed us in saw them leaving their sunbeds and heading towards the other restaurant she started chasing them along the beach and shouting at them that they couldn't eat anywhere else, only in her restaurant.  It was very embarrassing. We eventually did retire to her restaurant for a drink and lunch and were charged a huge amount for very iffy sandwiches and soft drinks. They did not have a menu and much as I expect to pay a bit more when you are on quite a remote beach with not alot of other choice, I don't expect to be ripped off. It's easy to say don't buy without seeing the menu/price-list etc first but lots of places in Turkey don't have menus and we have never been ripped off like this before. I'm not complaining about it, I just wont go back.

just to add to this our friends went to the same place on the right as you look out to sea their was six of them and they were charged just over five hundred lira for chicken and chips and eight soft drinks.   the beach is a beautiful location but make sure you only use the restaurant on your left as you look out to sea

That's £30 each. I couldn't have paid it if it was me cos I don't take that much to the beach.
