Even before his first day (in office), Erdoğan has experienced his first problem with the judiciary, in a first indication that his plans to establish a strong presidential system without changing the Constitution may not be so easy.

Very interesting article though! Hopefully the "west" will stop buggering about and go kick the **** out of ISIL
before it spreads to Turkey aided by the new Messiah!

Interesting enough little story of RTE being miffed and going off in a huff. But I don't really see what it has to tell us about strengthening the Presidency with, or without, constitutional change.

Its unlikely.  At least not in the short term.  I think there is a lot more to emerge/happen before we'll get any idea if Davetoğlu is simply RTE's glove puppet or if the guy has a spine.

His dreams of greater power are crumbling before his eyes,a fortune spent on the Brotherhood
to rule Egypt, a fortune spent on ISIL to rule Syria and very few friends left in the world.
I suspect many in the AKP only remain through fear.

I wonder how long it will be ,before he does a " Greece " , and sequestrates all monies in bank accounts owned by Ex-pats, of ALL Nationalities , after all, he is not against taking cash which is not his !!  >:( :o
