I have read in Turkish newspapers that due to Turkeys current problems the prices of fruit, veg's and other fresh products have
dropped by 50 %. Is this reflected in shops and markets in Fethiye & Calis.?
-
Not yet.
-
No the prices haven't dropped.
I hope they don't. I don't really want to benefit from local farmers going out of business. I fear many may do so though.

nearly every stall on sunday market same price as usual. fruit and veg. looking really good.

It is so cheap here anyway, especially if you buy seasonal fruit and veg as nature intended. It can't get much cheaper but it will be inevitable that we will see a decrease in prices if the situation continues. It's basic economics. Isn't it?
-
Seen no evidence of that round the fruit and veg market. Having said that the usual Turkish response to there being fewer customers - read tourists - is to jack the prices up for those who do buy!! Am I right?
-
Not in my experience! Now the season is over we always shop at the Friday village market. There you will find a definite saving over the Tuesday, Calis and Patlangic markets... when you are on a budget every little helps :)

As Nichola says fruit and vegetables are cheap. But I think the prices of lamb and chicken were pushed through the roof by the market being skewed by huge levels of exports to Russia. Any change on that?

According to Doğan meat prices are still the same but he says that tomatoes are cheaper!
