Title: Garanti Bank
Post by: cardiff angela on May 05, 2017, 11:50:10 AM
Does anyone know the name of the English speaking Customer Services person in the Carsi branch of Garanti Bank now that Alper has moved?  There is a girl called Ayca but she is not helpful and I don't know her other name or her email address.

We've followed Alper since we bought our villa in 2006 and he has been very helpful but at least this time he is still with Garanti bank

We started with him in 2005.  We got on well and he was great with our account.  Then he moved to the ING Bank and asked us and his other customers to come with him, we did.  ING was fine when Alper was there.  Then he moved again and asked us to come with him.  We decided against it this time.  However ING moved and it was a nightmare to get served.   We moved to the Seker Bank and touch wood have been very happy there up to now.  Two girls in there who speak Engish and are very helpful.  However who knows, as staff seem to flit from Bank to Bank all the time.

Thanks for the comments but I really do need to get in touch with the bank.  If anyone has the email address or phone number of a contact on a business card, could they please post it.  When we visited in February, we arranged with Alper that he would close down our 3 savings accounts as they matured and then transfer the money back to the UK for us.  Since moving to the other branch, he has apparently asked his replacement to get in touch with me but she has failed to do so.  For medical reasons, I cannot get to Turkey at the moment and our money is just sitting in a GBP account, earning no interest.  I'd be really grateful if someone can help.

We have found Ayca extremely helpful today - she speaks good English and talked and led us through our internet banking with Garanti. Alper has always helped us for many years including at ING but suggested we deal with Ayca now.  That is her email address.
