Hello.
Does anyone know what the situation is if you have to take controlled medicines to Turkey?
I am prescribed morphene and would like to know if anyone has experience in the procedures in taking medications that are controlled.

One of my friends regularly comes over with morphine. They bring a copy of the prescription with them

Not had morphine but always take an up to date copy of prescribed medicines with me in case of any problems.

All ways bring a copy of your prescription ,
I am liquid morphine and have also butrans morphine patches, been on this for years and many visits no problems so far,
but last year at Gatwick the drug sniffer dog caught a smell and I was stopped , showed my prescribed copy and the packets & bottle of morphine with my name and pharmacy and then it was no problem

Helps allot and gives me confidence to take the medication with me accompanied by paperwork.
On a different subject. Also looking for travel insurance. It's not very cheap when you have pre existing conditions. Anyone got recommendations?

I would like to know what deals are about for insurance for pre existing conditions as well. My wife has several and I hate feeling like I have been robbed.

A minefield and the insurance companies have all the cards.
We used Saga a few years ago and they were brilliant when we had a problem but one that was NOT related to a pre-condition.
Just "missed" having a real problem on our September visit - would have been "interesting" to see what might have happened.

I've taken the advice of Martin Lewis. Interestingly, I planned to take annual cover as we have three holidays booked. One of the holidays is a cruise. It has actually worked out more cost effective for three individual policies rather than the annual one. The cruise policy is by far the most expensive but it is still more cost effective to have individual policies.
