If you can manage a reply in Turkish it seems to put you in a bracket of "Not Tourists" and you tend to get no hassle:D

Hayir Tesekkur......belki diger gun (No thank you perhaps another day) But usually Hayir Tesekkur is enough.

Tesekkurler - pronounced tesek - kurler is usually taken to mean no thanks in Turkey

We were handed some leaflets about trips but there was no harassment when we walked into Hisaronu.
