Below are the edited highlights of a post by "Dawne" on another local forum. It appears that the poster has some knowledge of the case although I couldn't guarantee it's veracity.
KY and his 'co-workers' have been found guilty of corruption in the form of fixing the awarding of the contract for the widening of the road from Hisaronu to Oludeniz 2 years ago. A good deal of the evidence collected was via recorded phone conversations. When found guilty the perps were given 7 days to lodge an appeal. The matter is now with the Supreme Court. It is expected that the Supreme Court judgement could take between 6 - 12 months. In the meantime the 'word on the street' here is that KY, within the next month, will most probably be suspended from his official duties pending a final judgement. The contract was for a government funded job and therefore the crimes committed are crimes against the government and consequently considered to be crimes against the 'people', hence the length of the sentences. From what I am told, the actual time likely to be served (if it comes to that) will be one-third of the sentence i.e. 5 years.
