Growmore ?
« on: May 18, 2010, 14:43:30 PM »
Does anyone know if you can get a general purpose fertiliser, such as Growmore, here in Turkey. I did a quick search on the forum with no success. I do not want anything like horse manure. I went to a garden centre and they offered me something that looked like potting compost at 10 TL for a 10kg bag. At those prices I am afraid it is a choice between the plants starving or me. :)

Most of the agricultural shops sell a general fertiliser. It comes in either liquid, powder, granule or gel form that is diluted with water. For small amounts the little shop behind the Fishmarket is ideal. For larger amounts go to one of the agricultural suppliers on the Karaculha road.

I think the word for fertiliser is Gübre.

I have recently bought a bag of general purpose granular fertiliser(Gübre) from an agricultural supplier I think it was something like a 20:10:10 NPK @ 15 lira for a 20 or 25 kilo bag.

We have a fairly large garden but I am now set up for a few years.
