Turkish SIM -- Worth it?
« on: August 06, 2010, 08:00:30 AM »
Hi All,

As I am trying to think of all the things I need I thought about using my Turkish SIM card whilst in Calis, as I am staying on my own and will no doubt be ringing the girls every day to arrange where we're meeting or seeing what they are doing etc. As they are on Turkish networks it will cost me a fortune to ring them from my English contract phone. However am I right in thinking that if I havent used my turkish SIM in a long time that it will no longer work? And also if I use an old Nokia (english phone) it will get cut off anyway because it's not registered?
I am debating whether to bother or whether to use an old PAYG English Sim and just stick a tenner on it and make it last?
Any help would be brill!

Thank you!

If you used your Turkish sim in the old Nokia, previously, you should be ok.  Worth asking if you can re-activate your sim or get a new one and keep the same number.  They will tell you in the relevant store.

The old Nokia should work for a couple of weeks but might end up being locked if it's not registered.

I have an idea for you and will message you via FB  :)
