The cost of residency is so cheap now and surely more convenient. It is effectively no more than one day of running around or for 100TL per person some one else will do that running around for you.

All you need to do is get the paperwork together. There is already a lengthy topic where some forum members quite recently listed out what you need and what to do.

There are some "agencies" only charging 50tl per person. I have not used them so can't comment on 1st hand experience but believe them to add a small fee for "extras" such as photocopying etc. to the final bill. I used Carole & Tayfun, residency done within 2 weeks, total cost 500tl for 3 years which has to work out cheaper than hopping back & forward to Meis or similar every 90 days. For me the best bit is it avoids the dreaded scrum for a Visa at Dalaman when arriving back into the country, that in itself has to weigh heavily for getting residency.

I have just spoken to a very good friend of Tom's who had an e-mail from him the day after he arrived back in the Uk. In the e-mail Tom states that the reason he was fined was because his passport had been stamped in the wrong place. His new visa sticker had not been stamped with the entry date, Tom hadn't checked this when they gave him his passport back.

Oh well, the original post scared us and we got our residency forms and its underway.
I asked in the Kaymakanligi office about going to Gunluckbasi Polis station and was told no need,  just Fethiye... can anyone clarify this?
