Best bar/restaurant in Koca Calis/ Ciftlik 2012
« on: October 29, 2012, 11:05:19 AM »
.. and when I say Koca Calis I guess I mean from Seaside towards Koca Calis. Everything beyond that is really Calis Beach I think   :)

Personally I found the old Birlik very good this year - we went there for a couple of meals so it must be OK.

Top of the shop for value and food has to be the Pide place in Ciftlik though.

We ate at Max's old spot as well but only for lunch. The food was good and service OK. Slightly put off by them charging us 10ytl for two Magnums though when they were 2.5 each everywhere else we bought them!

Didn't try Dephnie, Mutlu or the Mozzy Bar this time.

Fully agree with you about  "Ozen Pide" since first using it at least 5 ago we have never heard any one complain,as well as value etc they are a really nice family,
We wait to see if the reborn Escape Bar on the Koca Calis roundabout ,now with new owners and to be called Angel after their daughter, will be as good as it now looks

Ahhh- that's where Escape is going to be! We were given a card in Melisa's by the owner. Might have to have a walk there next summer  :)

Visited several this year, the Birlik - good food but the service is awful, as it was under the old management, they do need to up their gome on that front.
Max's old place really only discovered for food late on during our hols but impressed, not overly busy (this is after 1900) so the service was great, very attentive and the food was good too, in my view better than the average, and probably gets my vote.  (I think that they may have some sort of hook up with the 'Captains table'?? next door not sure of the name).
Didnt try Mutlus, did do a couple of lunches at the new escape that were very good, Murat always goes out of his way to please, do have reservation about his head waiter, only get negative comments (over several years) about him.
Dephnie for lunch a few times and as always good service with food so fresh you can watch them picking it before they prepare it.  Never seems to do as well as I think it should do.
Eagerly looking forward to trying out 'Angels' in may

Definitely - all I need is a list of establishments and I shall do the rest.

Brilliant.  Thanks Scunner.  I'd vote for Ciftlik Pide and Mekan.   ;D

Should they still be there at the end of the season, or not under a new name, as is the fashion with Koca Calis  :)
