Thursday 23rd April - Turkish Sovereignty and Children's Day
« on: April 22, 2015, 15:30:29 PM »
Thursday 23rd April is Turkish Sovereignty and Children's Day.

There will be children singing and dancing in the Beşkaza public square from 2.30pm followed by stage events until about 8pm.

Potentially a good photo opportunity.

I'm sure that the 23rd of April is some other country's National Day - but nationals of that country usually forget it. Wonder where that is?

That's the day when displaying one of these is even more racist than on the other 364 days of the year apparently.

It was villified and "dumbed down " lest it upset smaller groups of the community by Mr Blair and his cohorts, some of whom are seeking
your vote soon.

Time to celebrate St.George's day on the 23rd April, in England.  i remember when I was at school we always had the flags up for this day.

Ah yes, that'll be the answer. The English are meticulously politically correct as they don't want to upset any of their neighbours. Not that they forget when St George's Day is and never learned about about Shakespeare's birthday in the first place. That's obviously the answer. Silly me for doubting it.

We also learned that Shakespeare's birthday was the same day, at our School in Liverpool.  However, I prefer Burns to Shakespeare.   ;)
