Update on the boys
« on: January 06, 2017, 22:48:24 PM »
This week the boys spent the day in hospital having complete medical checks by three doctors. They agreed one boy now  has 76% disability and the other 84% and neither of them will ever be able to work . Very hard for them to accept but it does mean the Mother will now get a small allowance as a carer because it means she can no longer go and work in the fields to supplement their income . We truly Thank God that with your help we were able to provide them with decent living accommodation to make their lives that bit easier .

Thank you for the update. Great news that their mum will receive a well deserved care allowance, but I'm so sad for the boys. God bless them.

Hi Kevin I have sent you an email and thank you for asking after them . New is not good as they have spent  weeks and weeks in hospital throughout the summer and autumn but still the hospital are trying not to amputate until its impossible not to . Reason being that their bones are still growing so would mean more operations as the bones push through the severed part of the limbs. Sadly after a discussion and vote we are not currently doing anything for them as the majority of the team felt we had spent enough on one family and we should  be helping others . I can see their point of view but it was not my vote as I feel so strongly about the family's plight. One bit of good news was that as the mother spent so much time in hospital they now provided her  with a bedchair to sleep in as she had been sleeping on the floor the while time !!!.  I am sure that when they have their amputations we will once again help them with hopefully prosthetics or any other help they may need.

Hi Don

I hope she won’t mind me saying, Mavis had a few health issues and returned to the UK - but you can’t keep a good lady down, Mrs Scunner saw her on her return in October. Looking great as always.

Only had the pleasure of meeting Mavis a couple of times.

Such a lovely, unassuming lady who did such a fantastic job for the boys.  :)
