Other than to keep taking them that is.
Brenda has the chance of a staff offer tomorrow so we were thinking of buying a tablet.
So what specification should I be looking for. My only criteria (I think :() is that it has to be "quick"
-
How about an iSpeed then ?
-
Son and daughter both have I pads and are very happy with them.
I would like to know if anyone has one of the cheaper tablets as I think Ipad are expensive just because of their name.
-
Dizzyjan has a Google Nexus 7 - £199 in UK ...... is extremely pleased with it .....
-
I have a £90 nameless tablet bought on EBay and am delighted with it. I love having access to the android/google store as well as the iTunes App Store on my phone.
But bear in mind, nothing comes close to the build quality and screen of an iPad - hence the many hundreds of pounds difference.
-
Does she work at Tesco John? 20% off for staff this weekend. Ipad 3 for £320 is very good and I'm considering it myself. Maggie has an ipad 2 and it's very fast and very good. The 3 also has Siri included with the new ios6 software so you will have another woman telling you what to do ;)
-
She does stoop.
And I didn't understand a word of your last sentence :(
-
I've recently bought an Ipad 2 and I absolutely love it.
Although the 3 has a better screen, for me it wasn't worth the 400 TL difference.
-
The one i have is Evo, it has a capacitve screen, very quick, and does so much , i am lesrning more evey day, it cost last December £109, that included keyboard and case, the Tablet is now reduced to about £65-70 www.jexaa.co.uk. so good i am going to purchase the next one up.

I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, 16gb 3g version a few weeks ago. Absolutely delighted with it. It has a bigger screen than an iPad, uses Android 4.1 jelly bean which is fast, plenty of free apps + you can download any app from anywhere (you are not restricted to what Apple say you must download). Build quality is very very good, no concerns at all.
-
Agreed Eric, but how much?
-
Siri is the voice avtivated system. Ask her questions and she answers. Tell her to do things and she does them. Not like the wife at all reallt ;)
-
Thanks for all replies. Unless I go to Inverness the choice will be very limited in my local Tesco.
So, what "speed" specification should I be looking for. Or if I do decide to get one should I just plump for an Ipad 2 or 3.
Thanks again ;D
-
Agreed Eric, but how much?
£298 at Tesco.
-
Go for ther ipad 3 as it is much better than the 2. Screen is much clearer and it's thinner and lighter than the 2 as well. Siri is very good and you will love that program. We use ours to talk to our son in Thailand on facetime - awesome feature.
You can by on Tesco Direct and pick it up at the local store I think. I'm more than certain to get one tomorrow. Not bothering with 3g though as I have my iphone for that.
-
Agreed Eric, but how much?
£298 at Tesco.
Is it not £ 398
-
It's cheap at that price, it's the best bit of kit I have ever owned
-
I bought it here in Turkey at 1,199TL. It is £380 on Amazon at the moment. So I paid around £40 more for it here.
-
£298 was the reply to the price of the Samsung Galaxy Tab not the iPad
-
Bought my son an ipad 2 a couple of months ago. The clarity of the picture is awesome, how it can be so much better on an ipad 3 i don't know.
-
Personally I couldn't see that difference in screen quality, fractionally crisper definition, but it had to be pointed out to me. Even the salesman agreed. So I say go for the iPad 2 version.
-
The 3 will benefit much more from any future iOS upgrades. The 2 is good but not as good as the 3.
Immaterial anyway - Tesco have no stock! My money was refunded! Swines!

i second that .Had mine over a year now and very pleased with.

The Rimms and us have i pad 2's. We facetime each other on nearly a daily basis, all free. Clarity is fine, no fuzzyness at all. At present being offered systems from iPad 3 but advised to hold on as some problems after download, Apple are working on resolving these. Go for the 2 if I were you if its just for personal use.

Comet appear to be offering the best deal on ipad3 64GB at £559.
My question is do you think I should I wait until I am in the UK over xmas until early Jan or buy now? Is this too new to come down much in price bearing in mind this offer is about £100 cheaper than anyone else is offering.

£533 at Amazon at the mo.

I am perfectly happy with my Samsung Tab though.
-
Amazon price has dropped since I last checked a couple of days ago so maybe I'll wait a while then if this is the trend, not too worried by twenty quid price difference here or there.
I want an ipad3 though thanks Eric :)
-
It might be worth waiting till you come over Nichola to buy in Duty Free. I am heading for Jersey next weekend and will check out at Glasgow Airport if you have not bought already.
-
oooh yes let me know prices that would be cool...
-
We have ipad 2 and well pleased with it, i know a few people with the galaxy Tab and they say it is great so if going for price go for the Galaxy if needing quality ipad 2, minimum 8gb which is enough for personnel use if you are not downloading a lot of stuff.
-
Well I'm writing this on my unamed 10" screen android tablet with my turkcell dongle plugged in works fine.
Tablet was under £150 which is a big plus; I can put memory cards in it and plug a dongle in it, all things you can't do on a £600 ipad.
-
You can get a 3G iPad and 16gb is more tan enough memory for most users.
Each to their own I guess :)
-
Big Doug I'm looking for a tablet that accommodates a dongle for a friend. Is this something like yours...
