Harem Bar and Restaurant
« on: July 09, 2010, 17:13:17 PM »
Really enjoying the food on offer at the Harem again this year. Glad to see Mehmet at the helm ensuring a high standard as per usual. Each plate is an advert for the quality of his establishment.
A young couple savoured the Fish in Salt Crust--a Harem speciality--so much that they wondered if Mehmet could oblige the following evening with Roast Lamb Baked in a Salt Crust.
Needless to say this succulent dish was enjoyed with relish.
I have had the Fish in Salt previously but I am looking forward to sampling this novel way (for me at least) of preparing Roast Lamb.
Last night the restaurant was full---- and deservedly so.
Brian
And--Welcome back Faruk----Always good to see you back home in Calis.

Decided to get up early to see if I could upload any photos taken this year. Following your clear directions it will be my own shortcomings which will prevent this.
Anyway this is Fish (levrek) in a salt crust and Mehmet can be seen flaming the dish.
Regards to all.

We have been to the Harem every time we go out to Calis and the food is always superb - particularly the Chateaubriand.  The staff are so friendly and really made a fuss of our 11 year son - who still goes on about how he was allowed to make a cocktail behind the bar!!

Thanks Highlander
I used the first option in the instructions to upload photos. Forgive me if this ends up the same way---
It should be ----Sunset taken from Harem Bar---I never tire of this floorshow as a starter for my meal.I had a fish I'd never eaten here before---It was a Scorpion Fish--I don't have the Turkish name handy---It was delicious.
Mehmet is displaying fresh fish on a Friday as a special. If this is photo appears ok I'll try and upload a picture taken then.
