At the Harem as per usual---A Lobster Trio were the special guests---

Mehmet escorts the Trio of Lobsters to fellow diners.

We came back from Calis a week ago and I have to say that The Harem is really back on form, after a bit of a dip in recent years. The food was excellent and we ate there the last 4 nights in a row, whichn is unheard of by us, as we have been to Calis for the last 5 years! The Lamb Special was delicious and also I took a real shine to the Lamb and Chicken Juliens, which were a bit spicier if you asked, but all of the food was excellent. The service was also superb, with nothing being rushed and I would say a real restaurant experience, including if they served fish, cleaning and removing the bones at the table. I would heartily recommend The Harem.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for posting the photo (oh and the young couple bit!) it has come out well.
We had some other great meals at the harem again this year as well as the salt fish and salt lamb.
As always Mehmet was really friendly and the perfect host taking time to talk to people and explain what dishes were if anyone was unsure.
I would like to thank Mehmet again for the wonderful chocolate & banana cake that was made for Steve's 50th birthday, it was fabulous.
Wish we were still there!!!
Diane

I was most surprised to see front of house star of yesteryear Tom, back from Germany back in his rightful place. We haven't been in the Harem for a few years, mainly because of a rude staff member (now gone). In the end we found the menu incredibly bland (I am aware that I need to be careful not to spark a new international crisis) but it was grey as can be. Now things seem back on track and we ran out of days so missed out on a night at the Harem this year but recommend Mehmet and the Harem.

Mehmet is a good friend and a very charismatic man. Don't you just hate that  ;)

Mehmet and Faruk alias Tom/TC/Kamikazi are resolved to put the Harem back to its place as a superb restaurant.
Diane-- we had the Lamb in a Salt Crust and it was delicious.
I'm going to embarrass you and Steve a bit more and include your Birthday Celebration on this Forum---Delighted to find uploading photos was so easy after initial problems.
Mehmet and his family always make a great effort to give that extra of themselves to ensure a meal in the Harem is memorable
Give our regards to your sister and brother-in-law. I'm sure our paths will cross in the future.
I'll send any further pictures to your email

We went to the Harem a lot last year, but to be honest the food really went down hill - we gave it a good few chances but in the end decided enough was enough.  We did not go back at all in June and the restaurant didn't seem particularly busy but, based on what people are now saying,  the quality of food has picked up and maybe in September we will give it another try.
