Frozen Chips
« on: August 15, 2011, 13:56:50 PM »
Just returned after 2 great weeks at Chalis.
It would be hard to find a bad meal in Chalis, all the places we ate at were excelent.
However, I find it incredible that some restauants while boasting about the home made authentic food they serve, will then go ahead and give you frozen chips.
Thats just not on.

I wonder, do the restaurants in Calis understand that the British dish of chips needs to be freshly made? As lots of our fast food places in the U.K. use frozen chips all the time and these places are really popular.
As chips are not an Authentic Turkish dish, but are, in some places, added to the side of the Turkish dish because the Turks think the Brits like them. Lets be generous and enjoy the Authentic Food and forgive them the "obligitory"  chips.

I wonder, do restaurants in Calis understand that the British dish of chips need to be served hot, not cold on a bed of kitchen roll, swimming in cold vegetable oil...horrific...

I was taught a good tip about chips during my 1st visit to Calis. If you ask for home-made chips most restaurants will do them for you, I think only once was this request refused & that was Burger King  :)

One of my Turkish neighbours invariably has served cold chips with breakfast. It's a bit embarassing, I wouldn't eat spuds in any form at breakfast, but to have cold chips put on your plate is just disgusting.

Well they would not last long eating frozen chips, far easier when they are cooked.
