Thread titles
« on: June 14, 2013, 22:58:01 PM »
There has been a recent one where it was suggested eventually that the title be amended because it was not an accurate title.
There has been another where the title has been less than complimentary but several postings have suggested the contrary.

I would suggest that if a review is being submitted as a new topic then the title should be simply the name of the restaurant / bar rather than something like ' The Something Bar /Restaurant is Sho1te'.

I agree to a certain extent.  It would appear that the Title was changed when mentioned that the owner was Mete of Golden Moon, Why?  OK he maybe "The man in-charge for Calis events" so it was thought that his restaurant should be given a bit of lenience when writing a review, should this thought now be aimed at all Restaurants?  stating that they are all having an off day?  :-\

Thanks for the response.
I was not meaning to draw the inference about GoldenMoon or any other bar but just that any review should simply mention the venue and let it develop.

I don't think who the owner was had anything to do with the title change. I changed it ( after the OP had tried) due to her admitting that the owner and waiter had tried to help and maybe it was actually just an off night.

I don't know Mete, or what he does and have never met him.

This thread may be going down a road that I did not intend.
You suggested to OP that the title be changed ..... I do not remember that being done before.... so maybe loz has noticed something that had escaped me.

2 thread titles ...... one of which has been amended by a moderator:

Kassaba - an off night?

ALI's Restaurant - Don't Go!!

========

I would suggest that they send out different messages.

I was the one who suggested that the title might not have been fair.

When I read the title, I expected a horrible experience in a restaurant.
But apparently it hadn't been that horrible.
The waiter and manager apologised and topic starter ended with saying that it was most likely a problem of that night.

In my opinion people should be careful with what they write.
This is such a powerful forum a bad review could cause a lot of damage.
It's just not fair to a business that obviously tries to do their best.

And no, I have don't know this Mete. I don't even know the restaurant since I rarely go to Calis lol

Thanks for clearing that up Dutchie - maybe some should read how the thread went before they comment?

oh - and if the OP wants the title changing on the Ali thread he or she can do this or ask a mod to change it.

Like most bar/restaurant threads it has those who praise it and those who don't. Maybe we all need to look at how we word the title. Maybe just the name of the place would do with your review - good or bad. Remember though that whatever you write there will always be someone who disagrees - that's life  :)

Agreed, that was the reason for the original post.
