I think most of us "oldies" were brought up eating pig's liver in the UK. In Turkey it's either beef or lamb liver both of which have a distinctly different texture and taste.

And all three are delicious. Haven't tried chicken livers except in pate.

Albanian style chicken liver
Chop 500g chicken liver into small cubes
Put in a freezer bag with
1tsp salt
1tsp pepper
6 tbsp plain flour
1tsp paprika
1/2 tsp chilli powder
 1/2 tsp cumin

Shake the bag, fry in hot olive oil

It's lush.

When my dad comes over we buy lambs hearts from the butcher by the fish market. Really tasty.
Can't bring myself to try tripe though.

That recipe sounds delicious kayakebab, will definitely be trying that.

Colwyn, Tesco do chicken livers, probably the other big supermarkets do too.   :)

I get mine from a Turkish supermarket in Brum but a lot of the Halal butchers sell them.

They are so much nicer than other livers, I buy a few kilo's and freeze them in portions.

A Turkish friend got me started on them, he said he lived on them when he did his

army service. In just a few minutes you've got a lovely meal.

I love chicken livers and will try your recipe Linda. Colwyn I've bought chicken livers in supermarkets to make pate or a starter salad. Ask your local butcher they will definitely have them.  :D
