England the Result
« on: June 15, 2014, 09:07:12 AM »
Well the lads gave it a go, but for me Italy always looked in control, their captain Pirlo ran the show. Sterling, and Sturidge, good performance. but im sorry to say Gerrard, Cahill, Wellbeck, nothing there to impress me. Rooney just cant seem to do it on the International scene. :(

Said to a visitor before the game "I would play Milner and tell him not to be more than 4 ft from Pirlo all the game but it isn't pretty and he won't do it"

They had the edge on us and it was the 77th minute when Pirlo played his first stray pass as we were watching to see when it happened!

PS that was the only stray ball he played :-)

Yes. Had he not been, someone might have played who can hit a cow on the arse with a banjo.

As said last night Italy had their chances and took them.  England had lots of chances and did not take them.
Why was Joe Hart so far out of his box, we were both screaming for him to get back, just as well Phil Jagleika was there or it would have been 3 for Italy.   I am nervous about Joe Hart.

Well it may surprise you JH. but in this instance I agree with you - he always appears to me to overconfident in his own ability. I hope he proves me wrong !

I think it's time for Roy to be brave. Conservatism is not working and he needs 6 points.

My opinion, Rooney has to go. Lambert up front with Sturridge. Baines needs cover (Maybe Milner) or play Baines L/S midfield with Luke Shaw behind him.

Still not convinced at Right Back either bit options are limited.

Barkley needs to play and so does Lallana.

The Ox, Wilshire and Wellbeck off the bench as an alternative late on.

And unfortunately I'm not convinced that Stevie G is gonna do it at this world cup....captain or not.

How Ray can work all of my suggestions in is a bit of a mystery, but that's why he's paid a small fortune........and I am not.
