How to delete apps & stuff from I.pad please
« on: November 14, 2015, 18:04:50 PM »
My ipad battery is constantly being drained, i was in an Apple store yesterday but there were no "geniuses" available to check my battery...
The guy i spoke to in the store said to let the battery drain completely and charge it which i did, he also said they recently checked a ladies battery and it was her facebook that was draining her battery, he advised me to uninstall it and then reinstall it but i just cant see how to do it, is it possible to have an "app cull" in an attempt to get more battery life...thanks for any advice   :)

Before deleting apps you use Karen, see how many are open and running in the background. Double press the bottom (Home) button quickly (while on one of the app screens) and that will bring up all the apps you have open at the moment. Swipe them upwards to close the ones you aren't using. There could be dozens running and using battery power - maybe some you haven't actually used for months.

When done, click the home button once again to return to normal. See if your battery life improves with that first.

^What Keith says

You probably have apps running in the background that are drawing the battery. Closing them rather than uninstalling them should resolve that. Once they are all closed, if your battery continues to drain then it is more likely that the battery is failing and needs replacing

If you do decide to uninstall them you just need to hold your finger down on any app on the ipad screen for a few seconds. All the apps will start to shake and have crosses in the top corner. Press the cross to delete and app (you should get a warning asking you to confirm).

If you want to re-install them just go to the app store and download them again.

Maybe he should be working at an Apple Store then Lynne. For a customer service driven company they certainly didn't sound it during Karen's visit.
