Went to the Bank today and there was a huge queue, so took a wander around the shops and decided to go back to the bank later.
Clinton Cards had a offer on Greetings Cards, any three for £1.00. This offer was not on all cards, but on selected cards all placed in the same side of the shop. The cards had been expensive ones with music, lights etc., I bought six at £2.00 the assistant gave me my receipt and told me I had saved £32.00 on the original price. She said the staff had all been buying these cards too, and it was the best bargain she had seen. :o 8) ;D
So, glad there had been a queue at the Bank. ;)

I'm sure your family and friends are really going to appreciate the 33p cards you send 'em. ;)
-
I think that they will all be getting knickers ! :)
-
Don't worry KKOB, it's the thought that counts and the present that goes with the card...Don't think my male friends/family would appreciate knickers though....

Don't worry KKOB, it's the thought that counts...
Really ?
-
Yep, the thought that says - I don't think enough of you to pay more than 33p on a card for you, lol 8)
-
but Jacquies family won't know she bought them in the sales will they, they'll see Clintons name on the back of the card and be impressed. Much better than a card from Asda any day. Quality speaks for itself!
-
By posting it on the internet I have a feeling that her family will soon find out! Lol :o
-
As she said, it's the thought that counts.

My friends and family know by now I love a bargain and I would actually get a kick telling them I got bargains with their cards. These are really nice cards every one either lights up or plays music. I could have gone to a supermarket and bought a 30p card, but getting the Clintons good quality cards at sale prices has made my day. ;D
I will be putting the cards with the Designer presents I buy for my friends and family... well that will balance things up nicely. :P :-*
It's strange how men don't understand bargains like us women do... and I also think they would not say no if they have the aptitude/ability to be able to shop. ;)
Also strange why people cannot take tips about shopping without making personal comments and judgements :(
-
My mother complained that my father didn't understand bargains. If she had been shopping in the sales she might say "I have saved £5". His reply would be "Show it to me then" (meaning the saved £5). She would then have to say that she had spent all the money and he would comment that in that case she hadn't saved it. I think my father understood bargains only too well.
-
on a similar theme, I went into Claires Accessories to buy "tat" for my twelve yr old granddaughters birthday. All sale items were buy one get one free, so I spent £6 and got items worth £35. There is no way I would have spent that amount, she will be chuffed to bits with her treasures, and non the wiser that she has a cheapskate granny, so win win I think!
-
Might it possibly be bargain/shopping tips fatigue ?
-
seems to me your are minus 20 pounds
-
The fascination with what someone else chooses to spend their money on is incredible.
-
I find it strange that I put information on this Forum about a bargain, no one has to read the information, no one has to go and buy the bargain, but men have to make a load of personal comments.
It's merely information, take advantage or not, but stop moaning.
I also note the great number of people who have read this posting already and wonder how many have been to Ciinton's ?? Probably the women who have read it, I think we are the ones that buy the Greetings cards in the main.
-
I haven't been to Clinton's in the past 5 years, firstly because I have never bought a Christmas card before December and secondly, Because I didn't know there was a branch of Clinton's in the Fethiye area.

Oh yeah. it's great when Mrs KKOB tells me she's spent £80 to save £30.
it reminds me of this joke:
Lady: Do you smoke?
Man: Yes
Lady: How many packs a day?
Man: 3 packs
Lady: How much per pack
Man: £10.00
Lady: And how long have you been smoking?
Man: 15 years
Lady: So 1 pack cost £10.00 and you have 3 packs a day which puts your spending each month at £900. In one year, it would be £10,800 correct?
Man: Correct
Lady: If in 1 year you spend £10,800 not accounting for inflation, the past 15 years puts your spending at £162,000 correct?
Man: Correct
Lady: Do you know that if you hadn't smoked, that money could have been put in a step-up interest savings account and after accounting for compound interest for the past 15 years, you could have now bought a Ferrari?
Man: Do you smoke?
Lady: No
Man: Where's your ******g Ferrari then?
