As the opposite to the best gig topic...
Which act do you look back on and wish you had seen but didn't?
For me there is two - I have no idea why I never went to see The Clash, and also Big Country (while Stuart Adamson was still with us).

A good few years ago Big Country were the folks switching on the Christmas lights in Glasgow city centre - we heard that they'd also arranged a gig that weekend at a Glasgow venue more used to hosting hoardes of teenagers and dodgy indie bands.
We bought tickets for it, fully expecting a house full of teenies and to be the oldest there.
As there was no support act, we toddled up a bit before gig time thinking there'd probably be a queue to get in.
No queue. In fact, we wondered if it'd been cancelled or we'd got the day/time wrong.
Went upstairs and found maybe a dozen or so folks there, all of a similar vintage to ourselves. By gig time, there were maybe thirty folks there possibly less.
We found it odd and were thinking "where is everyone?". I've no idea why it was so poorly attended, maybe the weather, the short notice and very little advertising...
Band came on and played the first couple of songs as if they were at a sold out Barrowlands gig. Then they stopped. Start Adamson stepped off the stage (about a foot high) and started chatting away to those at the front. He then turned to the rest and said "hey you feckers at the bar, get yer arses doon here!".
They played for nearly two hours, BC material interspersed with some Skids. When they took a break, I seem to remember they just wandered up to the bar - no airs and graces, just a bunch of musicians happy to be able to play and chat to fans.
It's not the best gig I've ever been to, but it's up there.
And in keeping with the topic: Leonard Cohen. The timing was just never right when he was playing in the UK.

So many, I have NEVER been to a concert. I like so many different genres of music but I think Queen,Leonard Cohen,Lou Reed,Quo,JohnHolt,Glen Campbell, Willy Nelson to name a few. The Foo Fighters put on a good show, kids have been to a few.

Was lucky enough to see Bob Marley - fabulous, have seen so many amazing people, Adam and The Ants stands out as probably my favourite even though I didn't really want to go.

Queen one of the all time greats. Never managed to get to one of their concerts. Though Mrs Toky saw them at Wembley

If I'm allowed a second bite at the cherry - I would have liked to have seen The Who.
Not sure if I'd want see the geriatrics today.
I would.... but doing the "old stuff" and that would be a little weird I think.

I saw Billy at (of all places) Caesar's Palace in Luton :D
He was at the height of his fame and my brother got tickets for us all, apparently he always does a small venue (which this is) at the start of a tour to see how things are received.
I was there because I loved him - what I saw was a masterclass in comedy. He's great on the telly but to see him operate live was one of life's highlights.

Pink Floyd. In fairness I did see a few minutes of their concert at Earl's Court, in '94(?) Unfortunately, a section of seating collapsed & the concert was abandoned, & I wasn't able to go to the rescheduled date.

The Rolling Stones... I managed to get tickets and then the tour was cancelled... Michael Jackson. The Who.. The Live aid concert and Dire straits live.... I bought the CD and it was a huge disappointment compared to their live show.... and recently I missed out on Sam Smith concerts because Barrie didnt want to go.. Am I bitter?? Yes...

Circa 1980, The Rolling Stones were set to perform at Capital Center in Washington DC. The tickets would go on sale, without notice, at any time. I was driving near Capital Center at around 2:00 AM, when the announcement came over the radio that tickets were now on sale, but only at the ticket kiosks at Capital Center. And at THAT VERY MOMENT.
I didn't have much money, but had enough for two tickets. I went there and bought two prime seats. The concert sold out quickly on the same day.
One of my friends LOVED the Rolling Stones, much more than I ever could. She lamented having lost the opportunity.
So I gave her the two tickets I had been so lucky to buy.
I missed the concert. And I wish I could have seen it. But I have always gotten more pleasure from having given her my tickets than I would have gotten from seeing it myself.

Saw loads at Knebworth, including Pink Floyd.(took 4hrs to get out of car park!!) Biggest regret Queen.... Bob Dillon at Woodstock Isle of Wight, I was in the island and my boyfriend at the time wouldnt go Worst, Wet Wet Wet, (I had a crush on Marti Pello), bloody awful, like a cardboard cutout. My faves Rolling Stones 40 Licks Tour, Four Tops- back in the day, at the Albert Hall.

I have been sent an email this week to see The Rolling Stones.. £160. £400 for good seats.. Unfortunately we are in holiday when they come to Manchester.. Would I have paid that? Probably not now.. Last chance but how many years have people been saying that.. ?

I won two tickets to see Tina Turner off a packet of cornflakes but we had a business to run in those days.. I sold them to a guy who drove a hundred miles to get the tickets from me.. He was so happy with the tickets and the performance that he drove another 100 miles the week after to thank me.. I really regret not going to see her.

We saw Tina Turner a couple of times. First one at Manchester Apollo theatre with Bryan Adams, then at Don Valley Stadium. Briliant shows!

Would have loved to have seen pavorotti. Saw Bowie as a support act to a " super group ". He did an acoustic version of " Space Oddity " it was brilliant.. also memorable was Joe Brown. Again a support act, but much better than the headliners ( the Supremes )

Bob Marley, as a lifelong fan of reggae & having lived in Jamaica for 15 yrs I regret not seeing him in concert however I did meet him (I was only a child!) & I've visited his home in Kingston recently which is now a heritage museum.

We're off to Oz soon and I had been debating whether to treat us to Neil Diamond at the Opera House.
Heard 'September Morn' last night & decided life's too short and went online to book but sadly his tour is cancelled as he has just been diagnosed with Parkinson's.
Sad news.

Although not strictly live The old grey whistle test has got a special on California available currently on BBC iplayer which is well worth a watch. A few highlights; Tim Buckley, Jackson Browne, Little Feat, Bonnie Raitt and Tom Waits, Tom being an acquired taste.
